Adele Services Scam

Not sure if this is a repost, but I searched for Adele and scam...

I was going through my statements, paying off my credit cards when I noticed a strange transaction on my latest HHB statement. It seems I was charged $0.21 on 11/20/08 by Adele Services, NY. The 800 number listed on the statment, 800-764-8104 is a disconnected number. I googled Adele, and it seems quite a few people have received this bogus charge. I'm sure that the 20 someodd cents they are scamming probably add up to quite a bit from those that overlook it or just say "hey, it's just 20 cents". Fuck that, it's the principal of the thing, unauthorized charge and all. I'm in the process of disputing the charge, and cancelling this account...damn I hate dealing with customer service! Anyhow, just thought I'd throw up this red flag to my fellow ATOTers.

My work got hit by something like that. From what we understood it meant our credit card was compromised. Supposedly it costs more than 21 cents in transaction fees to process a credit card and the company that process the 20 something cent fee on our credit card had gotten their cc process server hacked and hackers ran all these cards to make sure they were good.

You may want look into this more, there's a good chance you need to replace that credit card number.
