Additional firewall needed on top of Netgear RT314 w/ ports open?

i have a netgear rt314 gateway router that i use to connect 3 PCs to @home with...i have recently opened a few ports (using menu 15) for a couple of apps...FTP, Netmeeting, Napster...

do i need to/should i use an additional firewall like norton firewall or zone alarm since i now have some ports open??

any info appreciated...
 
That would be a good idea, although you will probably have to set security on them to a minimum. But, they will keep logs for you that would provide info you might need in the event of a hack attempt.
