additional case fan?

i'm thinking of getting another case fan but i don't where it should be connected?!?! the processor fan+heatsink is connected to the mobo 3 pin fan slot. is it connected to the 4 pin power supply? confused here...

It would depend on what kind of connector your new fan has. If it has a 4-pin connector, it is Molex and connects to the PS on you system. If it is 3-pin, it can connect to an available 3-pin connector on your motherboard, or using as adapter it can connect to a 4-pin molex connector.

Do note also that the 3-pin connectors have monitoring available. If you have an available 3-pin connector on your motherboard, connect it there for monitoring purposes (assuming you care about how fast it is spinning).

Most of the case fans you'll find in retail stores will have 4-pin Molex connectors on them, e.g.:

If all of the molex connectors coming out of your PSU are already taken up, you'll need to buy a splitter to accomodate the fan.

i saw some fan with both 3 pins and 4 pins connection. izzit allright if i just connect the 4 pins?
