The reason I stated as an additional was hoping this could be something those who still have the Office XP coupons that expire at the end of June (June 30th 2001 to be exact) can utilize this to give them a total of $150 off.

This rebate offer expires July 1st 2001 so the time is also very close to expiring so hurry up to use this deal.

The link is provided to the rebate from Microsoft.

$50 Rebate for Office XP Pro or Pro Special Edition

Enjoy

Oh and a side note that could be a way out for microsoft but still worth a try is this..

Rebate is not valid: if the product was acquired directly from Microsoft and amount of rebate was deducted at time of purchase; in conjunction with other Microsoft offers or rebates; or for upgrades from or on Academic Edition product; Not-for-Resale product; or Microsoft products pre-installed or supplied by a manufacturer OEM

The proof of purchase for the $100 is said to be the box top OR the original title page of the user manual.

The proof of purchase for the $50 is the box top so this is definatly doable.

Today only there is a special at Buy.com for free shipping and $30 off $300

They have it there for the normal price of $479 so you can get it for $449 before the $150 more in rebates you can get.

This coupon expires at 11:59 tonight

ok perhaps im going a little overboard with these posts but oh well hehe hopfully it helps at least one person out there..

You may want to even give Compu-Terra a try for a cheap version of Office XP Special Edition

They have it listed as $299 on pricewatch with a $12 shipping but shows up as $334 in their basket.

I don't know their rating but you may be able to talk them down to their pricewatch price.

That means if all rebates comes out to $161-$184 (check the exceptions on the $50 rebate because I do think they are making that want kind of restrictive to retail places but you can always try)

If you're a student, you can buy it from edu.com for super cheap. The Office XP Professional Edition is only $207.95.

This is what's called an Academic Edition. The software is identical, only price is cheaper. And, no, you cannot use any rebates if you purchase Academic Edition products (says so on the rebates).
