Adding Wireless to and exsisting network.

I have a current network that is wired and I would like to add the Notebook to it WIRELESS.

I have a linux black box server(clarkconnect) running into a linksys switch. Can I just add an access point and A wireless NIC to the laptop?

I don't want or need and routing cap. but every thing I see is an access point/ router.

Jack should be here shortly with the links to the appropriate sections of the faq 😀, but yes you can buy an access point that isn't integrated into a router, although for the price difference why not buy the router and just not use the routing features unless you ever need them.
