Adding Users to SAM files

Im attempting to add a user to a sam file on another computer which sadly is running windows 2000 which has syskey which can be a pain to say the least, anyways on this computer i can easily reset the password using a linux boot disk however, what I'd rather do is create another user so I can login on that user and then crack the password using LC4, since the SAM file can not be cracked by normal means on any computer other than the one being used with admin rights. Not sure if anyone on here would know what I'm talking about but someones gotta i guess, anyways thanks for any help you can give me.
