Adding to a network with one router

MY household has 5 computers and we only have one 4 port router. I would like to buy a new piece of network hardware but don't want to pay for another router. I have the Linksys router and was thinking about getting an 8-port switch. Would these two pieces of hardware be able to co-exist? If I were to plug the switch into the expansion port (or whatever Linksys calls it) would they both do routing the same way my current set up does (that is with plug and play type of stuff, no static IP or anything)? If not, would any piece of hardware besides a router do this for me? Any help is very much appreciated.

u can use any hub or switch and u don't need to do any kind of routing, etc. because u r just adding ports to ur existing lan

Good Luck

But if I want these computers to be able to access the internet without static IP routing will that be possible by just adding to my current router?

yep, u don't need to do anything but plug-in ur knew swicth to ur router with a cat5 patch and u r ready to rumble
