Adding RAM in Windows XP

Hi,
I just added another 256MB DIMM from crucial identical to the 256mb dimm in my computer, howerver, after the installation. my system posts, but will not load windows. i get a black screen. do i have a bad dimm? Because everything works fine if I take out the 2nd DIMM.

Take the old dimm out and put only the new dimm in. What happens?

no dice, still get the same thing. it will post, but black screen instead of windows loading.

K, you definitely have a bad stick of memory then.

Crucial is good with RMA's, give them a call.
