Adding New Lines to Existing (Cell) Account

Current I have a single phone plan from ATT at roughly $35/mo.

I maybe, on a busy month, use 100 minutes (I'm just not a talker... :)).

My wife would like a cell phone and during our discussions we tossed around the idea of ditching the land line, and just getting her and my son a phone.

I've tried to "add a line" to my account on-line, but it seems to want to force me to change plans.

I don't really need any more minutes and would rather be paying ~$55 a month than ~$80. :)

Does anyone know if you "have" to switch or will they let you just add to an existing plan like that?

Note... I have attempted to call the help desk twice... once I couldn't hold long enough (15 min) and the 2nd time I was told that, that department was closed for the day... lol

So I thought I'd throw the question out here, while I wait for a chance to call them again.

Thanks in advance.

If you want more than one line on a single account, you'll need to switch to a family plan.

Yeah, you'll need to switch to a family plan and then you can add another phone line for the lower price.
