Adding new hard drives to an existing Linux machine

What steps do I need to take for Linux (RH 6.2) to recognize new hard drives after they are physically installed? Right now I have Red Hat 6.2 installed on a single Maxtor 45GB hard drive. I just got two of the WD 45GB hard drives from the CompUSA/Best Buy price match. I plan on installing both and set them up for storage for my home network. Is it possible to set both up for a software RAID? Also, I have a Promise Ultra66 that I plan on modding to a Fasttrack66. Does Linux support this hardware? If not, does anyone know if there is development of drivers that will eventually allow this card to perform hardware RAID under Linux?

Thanks in advance.

Ultra66 - yup, supported.
FastTrak66 - in development, but not widely available (you'll have to talk to Promise support to get their pre-alpha drivers).

RH6.2 doesn't support Ultra66, you'll have to recompile the kernel to get U66 support.
