Adding more RAMBUS RAM, how to?

It sounds like a simple question, but here is the problem: Do I have to keep the continuity chip in and upgrade the present one? (DELL told me that) Do I have to keep them exactly matched to work at all (128 +128) (Crucial told me that) or can I just add a stick of whatever I want as long as the speed/type is the same? (128+512)? Thanks a lot.

You need to add RDRAM in matched pairs. Always two, always the same. You can have 128-128-512-512, but not 128-256-512-128 or 256-256-512.

Depends on what kind of system too.

Pentium 3 systems on i820 boards dont need to be in matched pairs.
