Yep, I know.. sounds kind of surprising given that I'm almost to an all AMD fleet now, except for the dual Xeon, but I just couldn't pass up the deal I got at a local liquidator! :Q 😀

Just picked up (5) IBM NetFinity 5000s - each is a DUAL p2-350 or p2-400 system. All I need to add is some ram and a drive and away I go, and I already have those parts here. :Q 😉

Granted a dual-350/400 isn't the fastest thing in the world, but they will help.. and at under $75 each, I just couldn't say no. 🙂

My dual celerys (2x366@550) need 12h for one wu/cpu.
 
With all these new systems, you're going to need a gigabit ethernet backbone on the servers (and make that dual for redundancy) to keep up with all the SETI work units that those things will be pulling. 😉

Let's see, that would be about 3.7GHz in total, wouldn't it?

For just the IBM NetFinity boxes.. yeah, that sounds right. 😀 Only problem is that I need to locate (2) scsi drives(w/rails) for two of 'em, or figure a way to hook up an IDE drive. Turns out I'm going to need a couple Registered ECC pc100 dimms too, so if y'all have any available for trade, be sure and let me know! 🙂

That's an awesome price, I would have bought them too...no brainer. Should get you another 10-15 wu's/day or so.
 
I have 2 16 MB registered ECC SIMMs (not DIMMs), if they would be of any use. Free (except shipping cost) for anyone who wants them...
