Adding keyless entry to 98 Civic

How easy or difficult is it to add keyless entry to this car? It has power locks. Someone told me that any Honda had the right stuff in the car and all you had to do was buy a remote and program it? Does anyone know if this is true? I saw remotes on ebay for $40 so that would be awesome.

doubt it, only the ones with it included came with the headunits with the included keyless entry bit incldued.

You can definitely do it. My Saturn has manual locks; I called a local auto modding/audio shop and asked if I could add remote keyless entry and they said sure. There are various kits available, like ones that convert manual locks to automatic and automatic to keyless and whatnot. I think they quoted me a couple hundred dollars for the whole system though, so I decided not to go with it.

I know at least the LX has the capability, I think you only have to buy the remote. I replaced the headunit in mine though so I would have to get an aftermarket system.
