I need some extra storage for video editing and id like to expand my space. Ive got 3 more sata 2 ports open so id like to put one on there. Will i have to reformat both drives? i havent had experience installing a 2nd sata 2 drive. Ill have to install winxp on the 2nd drive, right? lol....

OR

should i just get a fast raptor drive to put my games/main os on, and then put all my video on my 300gig drive?

-thanks!

For video work, you definitely want to use a minimum of two hard drives; one for the OS and apps, and one dedicated to capturing.

More drives the better...perhaps even a Raid setup with a large drive as the backup or for the OS and APPS....

You will need to go into Disk Management to format and setup the new drive after it is installed.
Other than that, it should take about 1/2 hour to do at most

I would get the Raptor, especially if you are planning on video editing. Then use your 300GB drive for your other apps. Put your OS and most used apps on the Raptor and everything else on the 300GB drive. If you are editing or using Photshop, having two drives is a must.

All you need to do is plug in the drive and then format it.......
