Anyone know how to add files into the Windows XP installation CD? I know you can do that with SP1a/SP2. The problem is that the installer *REQUIRES* the Sil3114 SATA drivers to be installed from the obselete floppy drive. I don't have a working floppy drive. Is it possible to put the Sil3114 driver into the XP CD so I can not worry about a damn floppy disc?

Look up the information on Slipstreaming the service pack and you should find the info on adding the drivers. I'm pretty sure you just add them to the default drivers directory that the CD uses.

You can do it by hand by putting the drivers in $OEM$\drivers directory and adding a custom path to a winnt.sif file and reburning your XP copy. A google search will bring up more detailed info on adding custom drivers.

You may want to take a look at this. This is a useful program that will slipstream SPs and patches, allow easier integration of 3rd party components and will create a nice ISO to burn at the end.
