anyone can solve this problem ?

i'm using win xp pro,
running on p4 1.8ghz
gigabyte motherboard,
got 1 512 ram and another 256 ram.

Most likely, it's not the fact that WindowsXP doesn't like the added RAM. Check to see if your new stick is bad (using MemTest86 or some other similar diagnostic tool). Also, try running your DIMMs by SPD and see if that stablizes everything.
