Adding Cisco WAP to a different Cisco 3650 switch

I had recently started working at a company that have some Cisco wireless switches setup. I had (1) switch fail that was setup in a vlan, but need to replace this access point with a new model and is a CAPWAP model AP which I am fairly new to this technology.
In the IT area, I was able to easily add this access point and it boots up and connects fine. If I take this access point out to the shop that is connected to a different switch, is never connects. I have logged onto the Cisco 3650 switch, removed the trunk port that it was setup as, but I still cannot connect. I can log into the wireless section on the 3650 switch and see the AP, but it doesn't seem to register or connect through this switch. I did setup the vlan access on the Web configuration to be the same as the IT 3650 switch, but that made no difference (not sure if that needed to be done and since it didn't work have removed this). I was thinking it would register with the main switch in my IT network room. Do I need to configure the mobility on this switch?
Note; we don't have a Cisco dedicated wireless controller.
Thanks!

I have not checked this out, but I will do that when I'm at the office tomorrow. I will let you know.

Thank you!

Hello, here's what I have setup on the core switch. I have a question on the switch peer group member count below. Is this only counting the core server (current server)?

Note; items in RED have been changed/removed

#sh wireless mobility summary

Mobility Controller Summary:
Mobility Role : Mobility Controller
Mobility Protocol Port : 16666
Mobility Group Name : default
Mobility Oracle Configured Mode : Disabled
Mobility Oracle IP Address : 0.0.0.0
DTLS Mode : Enabled
Mobility Domain ID for 802.11r : 0xac34
Mobility Keepalive Interval : 10
Mobility Keepalive Count : 3
Mobility Control Message DSCP Value : 48
Mobility Domain Member Count : 1
Link Status is Control Link Status : Data Link Status
Controllers configured in the Mobility Domain:
IP Public IP Group Name Multicast IP Link Status
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
xx.xxx.x.221 N/A default 0.0.0.0 N/A
Switch Peer Group Name : abc-def
Switch Peer Group Member Count : 1
Bridge Domain ID : 0
Multicast IP Address : 0.0.0.0
IP Public IP Link Status
--------------------------------------------------
xx.xxx.x.222 xx.xxx.x.222 UP : UP

To add more members, would this be done at the core switch or is this something that needs to be done at the switch with the new AP plugged into.

Thank you,

Not a ccna so not really an expert. Did you try to add the other switch to that peer group?

I will work on this during the upcoming week, and should be able to get this working. I certainly appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.

Thank you,

You'll want to ensure the port that you are plugging the Access Point into is configured exactly the same as the port that its working on. Also note that you'll want to ensure the proper VLAN's are traversing through the switches. It could be that wireless devices connect to a specific VLAN, and that VLAN is not available on other switches.
