Adding all pc's on network?

Hey guys, I just bought my son a new wind10 pc and need to transfer a large 100gb folder from his old Vista pc to the new. I am thinking easiest way would be to transfer or share over the network but looking in the sharing center on the old vista machine I am not seeing the new pc showing.

Can anyone guide me on the easiest way to accomplish all of this please? Thanks.

You need to configure the New configure for Sharing then it would appear on the Network.

I.e., Open on it a user account that is also on the destination computer and configure Permission and security.

If it is too much get a 32GB USB flash Drive and use it few times to move the folder in parts. If needed there are free Apps that can be used to divide large files. http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

I think this may be the easiest solution for me guys as I have a few external drives here, just only one has about 40gb free space so I will try this option first, thanks!

Yes, I should have thought of using filezilla for this and will do so for future purposes, thanks!

Well Microsoft shouldn't make it difficult to share files between different Windows versions, but they do.

In case you need help, once you install Filezilla with default options the server interface will launch. In the menu bar select Edit > Users and add a user (don't bother with a password). Select Shared folders on the left, and add a directory or an entire drive if you wish. Click OK.

From the client PC connect to the LAN IP address of the server using the username you set earlier and no password. Transfer your files and uninstall the server.
