Adding active digitizer?

Is it possible to add an active digitizer (Wacom style) to a tablet PC? Money is not an issue, I just want to know if it is doable.

I just bought an HP tx1000z, and was surprised to find out it doesn't have an active digitizer. It just has a plain ld touchscreen. Like I said above, is there any way to add that functionality?

If it has a USB port you are good to go.

Do you mean like an active digitizer on the screen itself? That's probably not possible.

Yes thats what I mean. I have no idea why HP went back to resistive touchscreen technology, but it absolutely blows. I can't write intelligibly at all on the thing. I'm returning it at this point
