I know how to actually add the file, but I need to purchase the song I want to play in the slideshow I'm making for my mom's retirement. My question is, if I add the audio file to the presentation, save it and send it to my brother, will that audio file be included as part of the saved presentation? Because of covid we're doing a zoom get together and was curious if the audio would be saved along with the presentation.

As far as I know it will be saved as part of the ppt. easy way to test, make a copy of the audio file, insert it to the ppt, save it, then delete the audio file. When you open the ppt it should still be there.

Thanks I was concerned about drm and that crap. I have to buy the file off itunes so I wasn't sure if it would be part of the presentation.

AFAIK most of the music on itunes is DRM free now isn't it? Not sure if it will handle DRM correctly.

Powerpoint indeed embeds the audio file in to the file. Same as it does for Images and Video.
