I have a Netgear wireless G router and I want to add a Netgear repeater to my wireless network.
I'd like to have the repeater in my upstairs while my wireless router is downstairs. This would give me better wireless reception in all areas of my house.
Has anybody done this successfully? If so any ideas?
Thanks

In most cases Repeaters would work only if equipped with the same Chipset as the Wireless Source. In other words, you need to use a Repeater that is matched and made by the same Brand as your Wireless Router.

In addition a Repeater would cut the Bandwidth past the Repeater by half.

Pending on your environment a Repeater might or might not be your best solution.

Read these pages it might help you to find the best solution for your specific envioroment.

My understanding is that the D-Link DWL-G710 should work with all common wireless devices. I know it works with a Belkin wireless device.
