The thing is I technically don't have but one wall...so no posters. That, and that sounds liek a lot of work:p...

It's kind of a quasi-cubicle...with four sides but no walls......lie ka little boat:D

i was thinking a Nixie Clock or something;)

Keep a copy of "Mein Kampf" on your desk and start growing a 'stache.

*Boom!* Instant topic starter..

I have both a large rock on my desk and a mural made of silver and gold thumbtacks partially covering a cube wall (done while I was on conference calls that I had to pay attention to and therefore could not also be answering email.) Both nice talk pieces.

I used to have a giant dual pcboard ISA video card up. It made a great convo piece the thing weighed like 100 pounds.

I always wanted one of those little usb missile launchers but they sell out super quick (and i don't work in a cube anymore)

There is no such thing as a conference call to which you have to pay attention. :p Conference calls are one of the perks of the modern work life; they look just like actual, productive work, but they never generate any critical action items.

(I can dream, can't I?)

We started building a tinfoil ball in our lab about a month ago. It's slightly bigger than softball size right now.

My husband rigged a roof on his. Took some long sticks (dunno how long or what size) and stapled an Indian pattern blanket to them and hung it over his cube teepee like. Was cool and very colorful.

I have a Lego guardian, a garden gnome, a couple of comics, a poem by Zbigniew Herbert titled "I Would Like To Describe" and a poem by Theodore Roethke titled "The Waking." I also have a stack of tax research treatises (Bitter and Useless for the win!), piles of binders with old invoices, and the typical office supplies.

People who overdecorate their cubicles amuse me.
What are you going to do when you get laid off? Spend 8 hours packing all this crap in a box?

I'm not advocating a clean desk policy, but keeping all the personal stuff hanging on every inch is too much. This is not your house. This is work. Keep it business.

I once knew a guy who could leave at a moments notice - all he had was his laptop issued by the company. No personal files there, no belongings in the cube. He got into an argument once with the manager about design decision or smth like that, and after getting all worked up he said: "That's it, I quit". Closed his laptop and went off down the corridor. The manager was running after him asking him to chill and reconsider.

Just leave it there and let the company dispose of it.

Everyone has to have a plant in their cube.
It constantly reminds you that there is a real world outside of your gray, lifeless cubicle.

Until it dies and all you are left with is a pot of dirt.
