Adding a new hard drive...

What channel do I put this drive on? This drive will be a 5400 rpm drive for storage. Right now I have a 7200 rpm drive as a master on one channel, and a dvd-rom as a master on the other. Should I put ir as a slave to the hard drive, or should I make it a master and put the dvd-rom as a slave? Any help would be appreciated.

I'd say put it as master on the other IDE channel and have the DVD as a slave. That way it won't be slowing down your other HDD.

i would put it on the secondary channel as master, just to keep your boot drive (main drive) as fast as possible

Thanks guys. But will that cause a big performance hit with my dvd-rom, or will it be insignificant?
