Adding a HDD to a RAID 0 setup

Well I am thinking of picking up another 250GB HDD this Friday to add to my RAID. I like the performance so far and thought one more wont hurt.

I was wondering if it is possible to add another HDD to a Raid 0 after one is setup with windows and what not.

Also, this is mostly for a gaming rig, but I sometimes use the drive to store a few files until I transfer them to a backup drive. I would like to protect it a little bit more. Would Raid 5 or Raid 0+1 be better to just help protect the files before backed up?

If you want to RAID, I recommend getting a raid card. makes a world of difference compared to motherboard fakeraid.

Raid 5 would provide redundancy, which your Raid 0 has none of, but IIRC raid 5 has poor performance comparatively no?
