adding a disk to openbsd

I want to add a disk to my openbsd box. The faq page definitely explains this, but i want to know why i can't just run the same script that is run during the install? I'm going to install obsd 3.1 soon and will just install the disk then, but its more a matter of principle. The obsd crowd is so good about scripting everything else, why not this one?

You may be able to. But if I remember correctly, the procedure is like 3 steps long right? Is there really a need to possibly modify the install script if its only going to be used once in a while?
