Adding a case fan question...

Ive got an 80mm case fan that has got 2 connectors at the end of it... one is similar to the connectors that would attach to a HD for example but one has got 4 pins instead of 4 holes (male and female connections?)

How do i attach my case fan?

Its not like the 3 pin connector that comes with my CPU fan which attatches directly to the mobo.

It is a molex connector, it is meant to be plugged directly into the power supply, just like you would a hard drive. The other connector on it allows you to plug another device into that power line so you dont have to use all of them on fans.

If you do need to plug your fan into the motherboard you will need an adapter like seen here. If it is a high powered fan, you should not plug it into the motherboard as it could ruin something by taking too much power.

Just curious, how many of these type of connectors can be used safely? I've daisy chained these types of connectors so much in my case that I'm afraid something bad may happen.

Thanks!
