Adding 2nd HDD

I just bought my 2nd hdd which is a 320gb WD Sata hdd. I have it installed and hooked up. But how do i access this or install this? i thought it was as easy as plug and play. I guess not.
 
Right click mycomputer, go to manage.
Then go to Disk management, if the new HD is listed, then format it and your set.
IF not, you should use the cd/or floppy that came with it to use during bootup.
