Addiction to computer games...

So the question, have you ever been addicted (seriously) to a computer game, to the point that it probably negatively affected your life?

Nope, never been addicted to the point where adversely affected anything. 🙂

I've always been able to stop well before the point of no return.

I used to play the original UT for at least 14 hrs a day, it got to the point where it hurt to move my wrists. I then graduated college and got a job and play CS:S about 4 hrs a day nearly every day

I used to play Counter-Strike around 5-6 years ago religously. I haven't really gotten hooked on any computer game since.

ALEXMud - 1992 first unix based DIKU mud - UT 99 in 1999 - WoW - 2004 - which I just quit....i should just throw my comp out the window

I've played games so much that it's probably negatively affected my life at some point, but I don't think I've been addicted to any of them.

Well said. I think the same goes for me. I've never been addicted to a game.

For a while it was MUDS, Counterstrike, Starcraft, Battlefield. Especially in Late High school, early college.

Now I am living real life though. Bands, women, movies, soccer, fishing, etc..... I am trying to pretty much quit video games for the most part in favor of working out/ guitar/ and getting with women. This summer has shown me the light in that aspect.

However, when elder scrolls Oblivion comes out.......

I was addicted to MOH:AA a couple years ago but it didnt really affect my life negatively. My bro however, pretty much gamed Evercrack 24/7 and barely went out during that time...
