Added yet more. Some VERY old pics from way back then I found in my house.

I am by no means a expert but I love to bring old photos like this to life for my own enjoyment, and although a bit hasty I think this does a fairly good job at that for a quick 10 minute job....

A shame that one of the couple on the coupe is so damaged. That's one of the more interesting pics. Thanks for taking the time to upload these funboy :^)

Dude, that looks very very cool. Even if you felt rushed it looks great.

I wouldn't be shocked if these pics were worth something. Glad to see appreciation for them. Don't know where you're going, if you don't know where you've been.

These are awesome! It's so cool to see historical pics like that.

Not as impressive but I found these stock papers in a wall when I moved into my house and had to tear out the basement:

http://gal.redsquirrel.me/?level=album&id=20

Now that I think about it, really not sure what I did with them, I hope I at least kept them somewhere... I should put them back when I redo the basement! I totally want to add little tidbits here and there before I drywall again. I always found it neat when people do that, some stuff goes unfound for decades.

Speaking of older houses, I went inside one of our telco CO's that is the original building for the phone company here. It's from the 20's if I recall, it has all original baseboards, plaster and lathe walls, asbestos tile (really dark redish/white mosaic, totally retro) Even original door knobs, know those old fashioned ones with the rectangle plate and the lock? Yep those.

Some of the equipment inside like the distribution frame is actually original too. It used to be the main CO at one point, now it's a remote. Wish I could post pics but pretty sure it's not allowed to take picture in there.

Can anybody nail down the vintage of that Chevy with the motometer?

I'll answer my own question since he posted another pic of it...that's late teens or early 20's. Which is pretty cool.

I was thinking the baby carriage had to be 19th century, or really early 20th.

Obviously saying something in a photo was made a certain year doesn't date them definitely, but I think it's safe to say that some of these photos are probably a good 80-90 years old. Pretty cool.

Looks to me like 1890s-early 1940s.

The car behind the guy fishing is 1950 or so, I think.

(I think pretty much every pre-war american car had front fenders that stuck out, and most of them after the war until 1950ish...)

Thanks for posting these. I find these little "peek back into the past" moments captured by old photos fascinating.

If any of you other ATOTers enjoy old historical photos, check this website out for super hi-res scans of MANY:

Shorpy Historical Photo Archive

Be warned - you WILL get sucked in and kill much time there. I can spend HOURS looking at photos there.

OP: perhaps you could send some of your better scans to Shorpy.s - they are always looking for more photos.
