All three routers in my house are on the same subnet. My two actiontec FIOS routers see computers on each others ends perfectly. The new Western digital one that connects to a MOCAA adapter is able to access the already mapped network drives but I am unable to see the computers under 'Network' and yes they are under the same Homegroup etc, I can however acess the computers under network when directly connected to the Mocaa. So my router settings are for sure off somewhere
This is important for me because I am unable to access the shares I setup for my android tablet...which using this new dual band Western digital router, I will use to stream videos.
So basically. If I'm in the room with this dual band router. I can no longer access my shared media directories from my android tablet (most important ie the SMB shares). In addition I cannot see computers as I normally would under 'Network' in explorer. SO basically if I were in the same room as this dual band router I would have to go upstairs to my other router, map my hard drives then come back downstairs to access them as network drives.
Router is an Western Digital AC 1300
Plug-n-Chug hints:
Some other things I played around with that might help Actiontec 1 Router (main) is 192.168.1.3 its dhcp assigned addresses to the the secondary router. The secondary router's (192.168.1.2) dhcp is disabled but it can assigns addresses from. When I shut off the new Western Digital's DCHP (its default router is 192.168.6.1) it stops responding and I have to reset it. Should I be disabling the DHCP on the Western digital? If so what settings do I need to put so that it will see the other computers on the network?
Also usually under Network I can see both my routers (Actiontecs) but on the Dual Band router I can only see my dual band router and on the actiontecs they only see other other
PS Been seeing this site since I was 15 and built my first rig. Finally manned up and joined lol
