added Vista protection?

just installed vista ultimate [std user account] with Avira, is added security really needed, like for malware and such, i'am not a click happy browser but i would like to avoid any future problems, i havnt disabled any of vista's features but i dont want to load programs that i may not need, i like a clean system that remains lite.

Since Ultimate has the capability, how about trying a Software Restriction Policy. If an exploit does try running a typical executable payload in your user context, SRP will be all, "LOL, nice try noObs" and stops it.

To run stuff that you do actually want to run, like an installer, right-click it and Run As Administrator.
