added second cpu to my box, do i need to reinstall xp?

xp pro doesnt seem recognize my second cpu..
do i have to reinstall, or is there another way of doing it?

yeah, same everything just added a second celeron (detected in the bios)
in the task manager it only shows a single cpu.
add/remove hardware cant find it, and you cant select second cpu.

I hope this is a ppga celeron as the fcpga ones don't do smp!

yes, its a matched pair of PPGA 400's on MSI 6905 dual celeron slockets.

Go into Device Manager, and expand the Computer branch. You see a line describing a single-processor PC. It will probably say Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC.

Double-click this line, then click the Driver tab, then Update Driver, Next. Display the list of known drivers, then click Next and click "Show all hardware of this device class." Select the same type of computer you have, but choose a "multiprocessor PC." Click Next, then Finish, and you're done.
Reboot, and Winodws will utilize the second processor.
