Added router, battlefield not working

I have Battlefield Vietnam and I just added a firewall router. Since adding the router, the game is not working. Are there ports I need to open to play the game? Does anyone know what they would be for the client?

I can find info on server ports, but not for the client to play the game.

Sometimes routers drop fragmented UDP packets which are required for many games, have a look at your routers firewall.

What would I be looking for at the router? Ive tried opening all of the ports mentioned for servers, and heck have even tried putting the computer on the dmz (to no effect). I am wondering if the software with the routher is working.
I have a Gigafast WF717-APR wireless broadband router.

DMZ should make ANYTHING work. I think you are SOL. I know my D-Link starts acting wierd with a large number of UDP packets (such as the Kad network on emule)

I can't help you even though I am able to play Battlefield Vietnam online even I did not open any ports or configure anything on ZoneAlarm Pro 5 and Linksys router.

Frustration level high, idea how to fix gone. Ive tried all sorts of things. I guess Ill try moving the ports around and see if that does anything.
