Added an external LCD to my laptop but..

So, I have a 17" widescreen laptop display with a resolution of 1440x900 and an external 17" LCD with a resolution of 1280x1024.

Now, my wallpapers on my 1440 is perfect and looks great, but on my 1280 screen it has the letterbox lines at the top and bottom.

Is there any way to fix this?

Is it not possible to have two desktop wallpapers?

Is there some sort of program that can fix this for me or should I look into getting the dualhead hardware from matrox?

i used it when i had a dual display setup and it worked really well.

allows you to have 2 different wallpapers, 2 taskbars, clone the screen, basically everything you would want to do with 2 screens
