So recently I purchased a 8800 GTS 512 as the video card was the only part of my computer I had yet to buy. It has been a while since I put together this PC and I was using a cheap placeholder video card in the mean time.

I have a Samsung DVD Burner that was working perfectly previous to installing the card and now it won't show up under my computer. Nothing changed accept for adding the card. I was reading through the newegg reviews and someone said that they also had the same problem with a samsung drive and this card being incompatible...they rma'd theirs, this is not a possibility for me because I bought the drive previous to what than the RMA period will allow.

I've updated the video card drivers and updated the mobo bios but to no avail. Anyone have any idea whats going on here? I would really hate to have to buy a new DVD burner on top of the new video card.

Thanks,
Vyx

Maybe you knocked a cable loose putting in the video card? check the DVD connections.

I just posted about this very problem yesterday trying to troubleshoot someone's video card problem lol. But ya pretty this can be annoying, a drive should either work or not work imo to make it easier to diagnose.
