addaction setup help

Teh UBER cool R-MAN helped me with my site, much thanks to him! Nothing there yet, but i had a few questions for those of you familiar with it:

e-mail forwarding: is that only to other logins within my domain or can it forward to anywhere..
subdomains: can i delete them at will? so i can mess with it and test things out before using them ?

hrm, that's it for now, i'm SURE there will be more, i'll just bump and edit 😀

do i have to have an account setup for the intended recipient or can i just bounce it off

Are you saying can you just forward an unmade account to somewhere else. I don't think you can do that, but I may be wrong.

yeah, say if someone typed the name wrong(a common mistake) i could have it forwarded to the right one, for example

You can add and delete subdomains as you wish, so long as you don't gove over the max allowed of course.

I think you can handle your email question in the Default Address part of the Control Panel.

First login to your cPanel by going to your domain/cpanel

Under Email Management click Default Address, whatever email address you enter there that's where ALL incoming email will be routed to.

Yes you can create/delete/redirect subdomains at will, to do that under Site Management click Domain Manager.

You can specify the catch-all (gibberish@yourdomain.com goes to the default/catch-all e-mail) or you can use forwarding as you'd suggested (my e-mail is chefjoe@mydomain.com, I could create a forwarder to catch all cehfjoe@mydomain.coms and put them in the chefjoe@mydomain.com account, but there's so many variations that it'd be easier to use a catch-all).

BTW: One of the greatest features about forwarders is the ability to setup a forwarder like "march@mydomain.com" that sends to a main account (or a spamcatch@mydomain.com type of account) and use that for a month, then remove the forwarder and setup a mail block on anything with march@mydomain.com in the header.

No problems yet, fast, all the options I wanted. I'm in

I sent a trouble ticket once to ask about the smtp server... their e-mail says to use the ISPs, but I'd prefer not to. Response in a few hours saying: mail.yourdomain.com is our smtp server to use, but know we have a zero-tolerance policy for spam. So do I ;-)

I'm very happy.

Awesome 🙂

Yeah 99.99% of legit web hosts have zero tolerance for SPAM. Most say in their TOS/AUP that if you SPAM your account will be cancelled then deleted.

I also prefer not to use my ISP's SMTP server if I'm PAYING my web host I wanna use their SMTP.

Glad you like it so far, you get what you pay for 🙂

I'm talking more specific, per account.....take thagrandcow@atot.com or something, i've always thought it was thEgrandcow.....so could i set just up a forwarder for THAT one, and then say another for someone else etc etc
