Add virtual windows 8 install to Win Server 2012 Ess. ?

Windows Server 2012 Essentials doesn't have Hyper-V support. So the short answer is that you can't; at least not with the built-in tools.:|

I don't have any direct experience here, but I think the only way you could pull this off is to use Microsoft's Hyper-V server package, and then install both 2012E and Win8 as guests.

Hyper-V has a stand alone free version that you can Install it on a computer and then use Windows 2012 Ess. on it as a Virtual computer, in parallel you can install on the same computer other Virtual computers.

Virtualbox work on Win2k12 Essentials? I could go with a different flavor of OS.

AFAIK both VMWare Workstation and VirtualBox work just fine on WS2012E.
