Fuck 'em! Buy them separately and make Newegg lose money. And yes, it is not your imagination.

It seems to be a problem with any "free shipping" memory products. There's no problem with buying multiple motherboards, for instance. But add a "free shipping" memory module to any multi-item order and shipping is charged.

I tried placing an order today and the error presented by VirtualLarry still exists. I got around it on my own order (different components, but same problem) by ordering the memory separately. It seems that any MEMORY that has "free" or "reduced" shipping will add $5.99 to the shipping cost (at least to my Zip Code).

I've sent an email to Newegg.

I got a reply from Newegg.

Their CSR said the reason that "free shipping" disappears when a memory module is added to the cart is that the "free shipping" for the memory is "Egg Saver" rate (U.S. Postal Service). When you add memory to the Cart, the total weight now disqualifies the memory for "Egg Saver", so the memory shipping is no longer free. Instead, "UPS Guaranteed 3-day Service" is applied to the memory. In my case, this is $5.99.

The Newegg CSR suggested buyig the memory separately from any other product.
