Add/removed features ro updates

So, since I was unable to get vista(x64 Ultimate) off the boot loader I decided to reinstall and try it again, I need DX10 anyway. But I was stupid and made a 10gb partition for vista(BIG mistake) needless to say when I did the first round of updates it ate it ALL. so I extended the partition so I have plenty of space, for now. The issue I'm running into at this point is that in windows update it's showing 90% og the updates failed due to lack of hdd space, and when I try to install them manually it says they don't apply to this system(?) so I went to see if I could removed them manually but nothing is showing up there... not even the ones that show as being installed successfuly! Also, on a maybe related issue, the 'Turn Windows features on or off' is blank.... Is there an easy fix(or a fix at all) or just reinstall, again?

Sp, I've found a few other error's while I've been searching for any sort of answer to this issue. First, a good portion of the failed insatalls have erroe code 800f0826 - something else caused this error, look for other downloads that had an error other than this. Also Error code 8000FFFF - windows hates you and wont tell you. Although it seems as if it's an error common among systems with 4gb or more RAM, I only have 3gb could this also be an issue for me? I haven't given up again just yet - just getting VERY close...
