Add & Remove Programs applet (appwiz.cpl)

The second time it happens on my Windows 2000 system, you call the Add & Remove Programs applet at the control panel (appwiz.cpl) and the form appears all blank with strange characters.

Any Idea ?
I recently installed Visio 2000, could be the originator of the problem ?

Thanks Gustavo.-

The Add/Remove Programs applet can be borked by installation (or more likely uninstallation) processes that kill off its registry entries. The first thing I'd try is issuing the command "regsvr32 appwiz.cpl" from a CMD prompt.

If that doesn't fix it, then, believe it or not, this may be related to Internet Explorer. What version of IE is installed on your system, and have you updated it? At any rate, you may have to do either a repair or repeat installation of the browser to fix this issue if re-registering the applet doesn't work.

BTW, what SP are you at on Win2K? I never saw this problem on a machine running SP2, only in machines running the base OS or SP1.
