I have 5 dics in my rig, two 132 GB RAID0, one 300 GB SATA I, one usb2 60GB, and i just added a 400GB drive (SATA II). Since adding the new drive i have noticed much longer boot times and other HD stuff takes longer. Normal? Si or no? The only system drive is the RAID0.

Could be a power issue, what is your complete setup?

On an older system I had 2 sata ports, if I hooked up a drive to the first sata port my system took a long time to boot, when I switched to the second sata port all was fine. I tried everything to get the first port to work right but it never happened and the board is long since gone, anyway, if you have another free sata port try putting the 400gb on it and see if that works, also try booting up without the USB drive to see if anything changes.

Hmmm, yea good point. I have the dual rail (12v) 550w PS that came with my BFG 6800GT so long ago. At the time, the conclusion here was that it was a quality PS. Wouldnt PS problems cause more serious issues though?

Ok, i will try the other SATA ports since i have 8 on the mobo. Nothing changes with/without the USB drive.
