ADATA RAM issues - same stuff or so I thought

Had some Adata DDR2 in the machine I am upgrading. I bought the ram from Newegg last year. So, I pulled up my old invoice and clicked on the hyperlink. It pulled me to the same page:

The stuff I have is listed as DDR2 800(5) 1G x16.
What showed up is DDR2 800(5) 1G x8.

Both sets are A-DATA 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400).
The old stuff won't let me boot on my new motherboard. They work just fine on the 'old' mobo. What gives? I made sure I picked the same damn stuff so I could have 4GB ram.

I did just notice the 'K' is missing on my old ram, however it is listed on the description on my invoice from 2008:

OK.......so after moving the RAM around in various combinations, things seem to boot now. No idea why it was fighting me.
Moved the old stuff from slots 1 and 2 to slots 3 and 4 and it boots.

Are the actual CHIPS on the memory modules made by the same manufacturer? I can't tell for sure, but it appears that AData doesn't make memory chips. They assemble memory modules. If that's the case, they could be getting their memory chips from a variety of sources, which could cause differences in the behavior of the modules made at different times.

Looks like they are from different sources.
I just found it strange that the exact same model is so different.
