Yeah, MicroCenter drives are horrendously slow, but lifetime warranty is nice. They just sent me a "gift" of a 128GB USB or microSD card, got the USB drive (they are priced at around $9 in store though, LOL). Benchmarked it, sequential reads/writes are OK, random reads are decent, but random writes are a total disaster.

Flash drives are like a box of chocolates ... you never know what you'll get.

I have couple dozen ranging from no-name $3 ebay china jobs to more expensive name brands like sandisk and kingston.

The best thing (unless your budget is unlimited) is to get a variety of brands and types and test them with something like h2testw and check speeds with crystal disk mark. Use them for applications best suited, considering the results. Then hope for the best as far as reliability.

They are all crap as best I can tell :)
