Adaptive image watermarking program?

I was wondering whether a batch image processing program exists which would analyze the general brightness of an image, and apply an appropriate watermark based on that?

The reason I ask is because most watermarking software doesn't take into account what brightness the image is. If I have a whitish watermark, it'll appear fine on darker images, but disappear on whiter ones.
