So I needed a new Group 58 Battery for my Mercury Tracer, but the battery that I was able to get a hold of from a friend who didn't need his doesn't have a bottom flange needed to hold the battery down. I could just rely on the weight to keep it in place, but that seems fairly iffy. I also know that bungie cords won't last forever in an engine bay.

Is there any adapter out there that converts these Ford base mount battery trays into something that let's me strap around the battery securely, short of using some sort of ratcheted tension strap?? I know Odyssey makes (or used to make) such a thing for GM vehicles that was a metal bar that went across the top, but the screw mounts aren't the same between the GM and Ford mounts.

Basically wondering if there's a bar or strap Ford version of this. I see products that use "J-Bolts" and a plastic hold-down across the top, but since the tray already has screw mounts, this seems to be in the opposite direction of what I need (it looks like the "J" loops are supposed to go through the battery tray). Plus, like the GM mount above, the standard battery tray only has a mount on one side of the battery. The other side is just a heavy plastic lip that acts as leverage for the bar.

Thanks for any advice!
