Hello,

I got a passive DP to HDMI adapter. It can't do 1080p over 30Hz with 12 bit.
GTX 1060. Benq W2000. 18GB HDMI cable.

There is very little content in this mode, but I was wondering if it limits chroma subsampling.
Tested as instructed here, did not notice a difference between HDMI and DP>HDMI:

Video content should be indistinguishable from the original when subsampled. There also shouldn't be any need for it on either the HDMI 1.4 port or the HDMI 2.0 port on the projector due to the low bandwidth requirements of 1080p relative to what those versions can handle, so it's unlikely that subsampling is happening. Even the bandwidth reduction from Displayport dual mode shouldn't bring it so low as to force subsampling. Could be that the HDMI signal the adapter is outputting is a very old version. There's never any guarantee when going between DP and HDMI.

It also sounds like you're trying to force 12-bpc color? No reason for that as there's no content requiring that right now and the projector can't display it. It would end up downsampled back to 10- or 8-bpc.
