ARRRRGH! I'm THIS close from casting this program into eternal nothingness!!!

my brother sent me easy cd creator and its up to version 4.03. my previous problem was that it wouldn't recognize my CD Burner, an Iomega 12x10x32x. well somehow this version will recognize my burner.

it just won't burn. :|

it burns about one song and then DIES. so i hit "cancel" so i can try again and the program hangs. I have to forcibly make it shut down.

i've used disc juggler and nero (which expired on me... grr) and they burn fine. its adaptec/roxio whatever that HATES me.

anyone know what its doing/can do? uninstall/reinstall does nothing.

in fact, once i uninstalled and reinstalled and it turned into version 4.00! and that definitely didn't recognize my burner.

*scream of agony*

Just a hunch based on something I experienced myself:

If you are using bus mastering driver other than the ones off the Windows CD, this may be your problem. I tried the VIA bus mastering driver and I got the same results you did - write stopped, program locked. Went to VIA's web site for a possible solution, and sure enough, they had one. VIA knows about the problem. They recommend NOT using their bus mastering driver with CDR/CDRWs and using the Windows bus mastering driver off the Windows 98 CD. I changed to the Windows bus mastering drivers per VIA's suggestion and everything works just fine. I did this several months ago, and have had no problems with either Easy CD Creator or Nero. Don't see any loss in performance using the Windows driver.

Also, make sure you are using at least version 4.02d of Easy CD Creator (Easy CD Creator versions prior to 4.02d will not recognize your recorder, as you found out).
