Adaptec ATA Controller Card not working?

Well I just setup a new Gigabyte DS3 Core 2 Duo system, and I can't seem to get the Adaptec Ultra ATA PCI card to work so I can get my 2 IDE DVD-ROMs working. The card is recognized in windows as a pci card(though I can't seem to get the drivers to install). However I thought it would be recognized by bios?

I have 2 IDE Hard drives on the only MB IDE port, and these 2 DVD ROMs(with master and slave individually set) plugged into the card. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Well it won't reach any other pci slots because of the ide cable. If Windows at least sees it isn't that a good sign?

It may be that the card is in conflict with an onboard device.
(which is why you can not get the drivers to install)
Moving it to another slot may help with that conflict by changing
the IRQ that it is using.

You should see the card and drives when the PC POSTS.

Well I got the card to recognize when the PC POSTS, and it reads my IDE stuff correctly now.

However, one minor problem I have is when I hit "DEL" to enter the bios setup it simply will not let me do that without removing the card. E.G. I can hit DEL while the system is posting, then it shows the PCI ATA card stuff and loads that, and then freezes.

Is there anyway to avoid this without having to remove the card every time?

Thanks
