Adaptec ASPI drivers not working...

I have a laptop which is running XP and I'm trying to get Audiocatalyst 2.1 and Smartripper 2.28 working, both require an ASPI driver, so I downloaded and installed version 4.71.2 from Adaptec's website. All seemed fine but both Audiocatalyst and Smartripper both give ASPI errors. Adaptec's test program says they are working.

I though XP had an aspi layer built in ??

and if I'm not mistaken Adaptec's aspi will only work with adaptec hardware, I'm quite sure I read that somewhere before. One thing I do know is that doom9.org has a aspi layer for download.

I've NEVER had 4.7x work on anything. I just had to use ForceASPI again to get some things working right. It's 4.6 and works on/with everything.

Try www.Radified.com or www.forceaspiradified.com

At any rate doing a search for force aspi will get you the results fast.

Many thanks for that - It now works a treat with both Audiocatalyst and Smartripper.
