Adaptec AHA-2920 in WinXP Home

I have just installed WinXP Home on a system that has an Adaptec AHA-2920 SCSI adapter in it. This is a clean install of WinXP home. WinXP detects the card, but when it tries to install the driver I get an error saying that a necessary entry is missing and the the INF file was probably written for Windows 95 (it is looking for the INF on the WinXP CD!). It seems that the file is bad.

I've looked on the Adaptec website for a WinXP driver, and they seem to indicate that the one on the WinXP CD should be used. Any suggestions as to how I can this adapter to work in WinXP?
